Tosh to Giraldo: “Thank you for everything”
In an atypically terse tweet (even by their 140-character standards) on his Twitter page, Daniel Tosh joins the dozens of fellow comedians who are expressing their sadness via the social network upon hearing the news of Greg Giraldo’s unexpected death.
Tosh tweeted, “Sorry to hear about the passing of Greg Giraldo. Thank you for everything.”
Comedic talent ranging from Dane Cook to Sarah Silverman to Bill Engvall paid virtual tribute to their fallen comrade, who died on Wednesday from complications caused by an apparent prescription drug overdose. Giraldo was hospitalized last Saturday after paramedics resuscitated him at a party in his hotel room in New Jersey, where he was performing several nights at The Stress Factory in East Brunswick.
Greg was a frequent roaster on the Comedy Central series, most recently for David Hasselhoff’s roast. He also appeared as a judge on the reality TV show “Last Comic Standing.” He was 44.
